Matchy McMatchersons

I'm picture challenged. I think I got it all figured out. These are from Tuesday.

Sweater: Loft; Shirt, Jeans: Gap;
Shoes: Target

Look! It's grey and a sweater that isn't purple! I really had to resist the urge to pair purple with this. Blue is a nice color too.

After I had gotten dressed, I realized that I managed to match my nails and my shoes. It happens. Polish is black matte and silver from Hot Topic. Buying them, I couldn't help but giggle immensely. I recommend the silver, but not the black.

Lastly, I was in NY visitng my family recently to celebrate my step father's retirement, and since my 30th birthday is coming up, my parents gave me my present. It's a lovely necklace, but more than that it's a fairly sentimental piece. The center stone is from a ring my grandmother (on m mom's side) had. For many years, my mom then had it, and she gave it to me. The ring was a lovely old setting but didn't fit and the band was no longer in great shape, and she always said she wanted to re-set it for me. So for my birthday they had it set in this lovely necklace! The best part? My mom took another ring also from her mom and had it set in a similar setting for herself. So now we're necklace buddies :)

that necklace is really beautiful!
(i may be biased, my engagement ring is a very similar setting!)
i love when people have stones from meaningful jewelry reset in a way that makes it useful for them. when fashion + sentiment collide!

That's such a sweet story about the necklace! So glad you could have the stones in a piece you can wear more often.

What a beautiful, meaningful piece! I love it. Also, what shirt is that underneath the cardi? Me likey! It looks like something that would be very happy in my closet.

Beautiful necklace! Love the story behind it. How did you get your picture so big? Mine always seem so tiny. Do you down load and sync to photo site?

Thanks ladies :) I'm a sucker for jewerly that was made special for me also. It doesn't even have to be unique, but made for me means a lot!

@Bianca- Hee hee- it's a total Bianca shirt! I got it a few months ago I think. Gap, lots of colors.

@Sher - so the reason I've been having issues with pictures lately is that I finally decided to commit to iPhoto for photo organization and storage and also to host my blog picks on Flickr and it's taken me a few days to get all that together and figure out what I want to do. Previously I would actually reduce the file size and then upload the smaller files directly to blogger. Because I still have no idea what I'm doing I did not actually reduce the file size like I used to, instead I uploaded to Flickr after cropping, so it's still pretty gigundo. Then I changed the photo size on Flickr before inserting it through blogger, which is how the picture with the necklace isn't ridiculously huge even though I uploaded it at full size. I also learned that you can adjust the size of photos in blogger. Only took a few years of having blogs. Hooray for learning!
